Raina Morris Early Life and Education
Raina Morris grew up in Portland, Oregon, before moving across the country to attend Northeastern University in Boston. Her early years were spent outside the entertainment industry, but her interest in comedy and television developed long before she began working professionally.
At Northeastern, she studied health science rather than creative writing or film production. During a September 2020 interview with Crybaby Press, Morris explained that she had always enjoyed television and wanted to become a TV writer.
She completed her university studies in May 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic. At the time, she was also working as a barista, balancing employment, academic responsibilities and her growing interest in comedy.
How Raina Morris Started Her Comedy Career
Morris began gaining recognition through her humorous posts and videos on Twitter, now known as X. Her content often featured self-deprecating jokes, observations about everyday situations and playful commentary on celebrity culture.
Her online popularity increased during the pandemic, when people were spending more time on social media. After completing her studies, she returned to Portland and continued producing comedy content while exploring opportunities in entertainment.
The Viral John Boyega Video
One of her most widely discussed early moments involved a humorous video addressed to Star Wars actor John Boyega.
The video attracted attention after a fake account impersonating Boyega responded, causing confusion among social media users. The real actor subsequently responded to the impersonator, bringing further attention to the situation.
Morris discussed the incident in her 2020 Crybaby Press interview, describing the unexpected attention and reactions that followed.
Although the video generated publicity, Morris was already focused on developing a career in comedy writing rather than relying entirely on viral fame.
Raina Morris Television Writing Career
Raina Morris successfully moved from online comedy into professional television writing. Her credited work includes romantic comedy, musical fantasy and contemporary comedy-drama.
Her career reflects a shift from creating short-form internet jokes to helping develop stories for scripted entertainment.
Emily in Paris: Building Her Television Experience
One of Morris’s most recognizable professional credits is the Netflix series Emily in Paris.
She worked as a staff writer during the show’s second season in 2021 and received executive story editor credits during its third season in 2022.
These positions involve different responsibilities within a television writing team. Staff writers contribute to story development and scripts, while executive story editors typically take on additional editorial and storytelling responsibilities.
Her credits across the two seasons demonstrate professional experience within an established international streaming production.
Schmigadoon!: Writing for Musical Comedy
Another important credit is Schmigadoon!, a musical comedy starring Keegan-Michael Key and Cecily Strong.
Morris wrote the fourth episode of its second season, titled Something Real, which premiered on April 19, 2023.
The episode follows Josh and Melissa as they attempt to help other characters find happiness, with unexpected consequences.
This credit is particularly notable because it identifies an individual episode written by Morris, rather than simply listing her as part of the broader writing staff.
Neon: Expanding Into Another Comedy Series
Morris also contributed to Netflix’s Neon.
Raina Morris received the “written by” credit for the sixth episode, “Isanti,” while Brianna Porter and Christopher Eddins were credited as executive story editors. The episode was released on October 19, 2023.
The series focuses on aspiring musicians navigating their ambitions, relationships and opportunities in the music industry.
Her participation added another genre and storytelling environment to her growing television portfolio.
Christmas Always Finds Its Way
In 2022, Morris also received a writing credit for Les Petits Mondes de Noël, part of the holiday production Christmas Always Finds Its Way.
The French-language story follows characters whose personal connections unfold around Christmas.
The project demonstrates her experience beyond American television series and includes a credited standalone holiday narrative.
Has Raina Morris Worked as an Actress?
Although writing is her main profession, Morris also has an acting credit.
She appeared as Sasha in Anna Comes Home, a coming-of-age drama directed by Amber Paulette Suzor.
The film follows a young woman confronting emotional uncertainty and the difficult transition into adulthood. It was included in the 2024 Woodstock Film Festival’s narrative feature lineup.
The festival’s official program lists Morris among the cast, while IMDb identifies her character as Sasha.
This appearance adds an acting credit to her creative résumé, although she remains primarily known for her writing and comedy.
Understanding Raina Morris’s Television Credits
A useful distinction when examining Morris’s career is the difference between working in a television writers’ room and receiving an individual episode credit.
For example, her work on Emily in Paris includes staff writer and executive story editor credits. These positions represent contributions to a collaborative television production.
By comparison, Something Real from Schmigadoon! carries a specific writing credit for Morris.
Both types of experience are professionally meaningful, but they do not describe identical responsibilities.
Understanding this distinction provides a more accurate picture of her career than assuming every episode associated with her name was independently written by her.
Raina Morris and Belmont Cameli’s Relationship
Raina Morris has also received considerable attention because of her relationship with Belmont Cameli.
Cameli is an American actor known for the Saved by the Bell revival and his portrayal of Garrett Graham in Prime Video’s romantic drama Off Campus.
Their relationship became publicly visible in March 2025, when Cameli shared photographs featuring Morris on Instagram.
Although the exact circumstances of their first meeting have not been publicly established, the two have appeared together at entertainment events and acknowledged their relationship on social media.
Public Appearances Together
Several public moments have drawn attention to their relationship:
- March 2025: Their relationship became public through Instagram posts.
- March 2025: Morris accompanied Cameli to the premiere of The Alto Knights.
- April 2026: They appeared together around the Los Angeles premiere of Off Campus.
These appearances brought Morris greater recognition among fans of Cameli’s television work.
However, it is important to distinguish Cameli’s fictional romance with his Off Campus costar Ella Bright from his real-life relationship with Morris.
Raina Morris in 2026: Public Attention and Privacy
In 2026, Morris attracted greater media coverage as Off Campus gained popularity.
Some online discussions focused on Cameli’s on-screen chemistry with Ella Bright, leading to speculation about the actors’ personal relationships.
In May 2026, Morris publicly clarified a social media misunderstanding involving Bright. Reports described the two women as friends rather than rivals.
The increased attention also created unwanted intrusion into Morris’s private life.
On July 14, 2026, she posted an Instagram message requesting that fans stop contacting her relatives. People reported the incident the following day.
Her response highlighted the difference between enjoying entertainment and crossing personal boundaries. It also demonstrated how public interest in a television series can affect people connected to its cast.
Social Media and Personal Style
Morris uses the Instagram handle @quakerraina, a name associated with her earlier online comedy presence.
Alongside entertainment-related updates, she has discussed beauty, hair care and her personal approach to appearance.
In a 2020 interview with Into The Gloss, Morris recalled her mother’s childhood hair-care routines and explained how her relationship with her natural curls had changed over time.
She emphasized feeling comfortable with her appearance rather than following beauty expectations that did not suit her.
This combination of humor, personal observations and creative work has remained part of her public identity.
What Makes Raina Morris’s Career Interesting?
Morris’s professional journey stands out because her education and eventual career followed different directions.
Rather than entering television through a conventional screenwriting degree, she pursued health science, built an audience through comedy and developed professional writing credits.
Her work on established streaming productions shows that her career is supported by documented creative contributions, not simply by her relationship with a well-known actor.
Her background also demonstrates how social media can provide visibility for emerging creative talent, although online popularity alone does not guarantee employment in television.
Conclusion
Raina Morris has established herself as a television writer and comedian with credits on Emily in Paris, Schmigadoon! and Neon, alongside work in short-form storytelling and acting.
Her educational journey, early online comedy and transition into professional screenwriting form the most important parts of her biography.
While her relationship with Belmont Cameli has increased public interest in her life, her writing career remains a significant part of her professional identity.
